Walnut Pumpkin Pie

The walnuts transform this pumpkin pie into a taste sensation, and add a great new texture to a traditional holiday favorite.

3/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground clove
2 large eggs
1 can pumpkin, Libby's 15oz
1 can evaporated milk, 12 oz
1 pie crust (9 inch), unbaked
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons butter
3/4 cup walnuts, chopped
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon


Mix sugar,salt,cinnamon,ginger and cloves in a small bowl. Beat eggs in large bowl. Stir in pumpkin and sugar-spice mixture Gradually stir in evaporated milk.

Pour into pie shell.

Bake in preheated 425 F oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 F.

Meanwhile, combine sugar, flour and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon; cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in walnuts. Sprinkle walnut mixture over pie.

Bake 40 minutes at 350 F until knife inserted comes out clean.
