Description

This is my favorite cucumber recipe. This goes with almost anything, and is served chilled, so it's perfect for a summer barbecue.

1 cucumber, large
1/2 cup vinegar, white
1/2 cup sugar
2 3/4 cups water
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried dill, or 1-1/2 teaspoons fresh dill

Methods/steps

Pare cucumber. Score with a fork to create lines down the length of the cucumber, then slice thin. Place in a medium-sized bowl.

Combine remaining ingredients in a small saucepan. Heat , stirring, just to boiling. Pour over cucumber. Cover.

Chill at least one hour to season.
