Hot Blueberry Sauce

Description

This hot blueberry sauce is terrific served over vanilla ice cream, waffles, or angel food cake. Yum!

1 cup

1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
1/4 cup sugar
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon lemon zest

Methods/steps

Wash the berries and drain well.

Mix berries with the remaining ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil and simmer slowly for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Serve over ice cream, waffles, puddings or cake. Makes about 1 cup.
