Chinese Barbecued Pork Tenderloin

This Chinese dish turns pork tenderloin into an Asian feast. Be sure to buy duck sauce to serve it with - it makes all the difference!

1 pound pork tenderloin, in two strips
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons ketchup
1/2 teaspoon MSG
1/4 teaspoon salt
sesame seeds, toasted
1/4 jar duck sauce, for accompaniment


Combine all ingredients EXCEPT sesame seeds, pork and duck sauce in a mixing bowl. Add pork srtips and marinate for at least three hours, turning every hour or so.

Drain pork.

To cook - either grill for about 10-11 minutes, broil on low broiler , or bake at 425 for 20 minutes or more, depending on thickness of the meat. Turn every ten minutes to brown evenly.

Slice into 1/4 inch slices, arrange them overlapping on a platter, and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.

Serve with duck sauce on the side.

Additional Tips

Duck sauce is available in jars in most supermarkets in the Asian or ethnic food section.
