Description

This is a simple but flavorful tomato sauce-based preparation for chicken. The sherry really adds great flavor without overpowering the sauce.

6 chicken legs
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1 pinch dried oregano
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 clove garlic
2 cups tomato sauce
1/4 cup dry sherry

Methods/steps

Preheat oven to 400.

Rub chicken with oil and arrange in a shallow baking pan. Bake at 400 for 8 minutes until skin browns slightly.

Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine remaining ingredients with salt and pepper to taste. Pour over chicken, reduce oven heat to 375, bake 35 minutes, basting occasionally.
