2 tablespoons oil Methods/stepsHeat oven to 300. Heat oil and bay leaf in heavy ovenproof pot on the stove over medium-high heat. Add meat and brown, turning occasionally. Add the onion and cook for a few more minutes until onion softens and starts to turn transparent. Reduce heat to low. Add the flour, stirring well to distribute the flour evenly. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring. Mix in the beer and bouillon, and bring the pot to a simmer. Add carrots, parsley, salt and pepper. Cover the pot, transfer to oven.
